B2B Data Service
Revolutionizes Search and Retrieval of Consumer Information
eQuickData, a business unit of International
InfoSearch, Inc. (IISI), was envisioned to revolutionize a
critical component of the credit and collections industry:
locating accurate consumer addresses and telephone numbers.
No other existing product offered inexpensive access to
multiple data vendors, which in eQuickData’s proof of
concept testing, has increased the probability of updating
an address or telephone number (obtaining a HIT) from 15% to
over 60%.
PWI was selected from among several vendors
by IISI, due to PWI's experience in developing
state-of-the-art analytic systems, to design and code the
eQuickData system. PWI designed an intelligent data
processing engine which completes file inquiries in less
than 24 hours and sequentially contacts up to four data
vendors, constantly monitoring HIT ratios and costs.
eQuickData adjusts the order in which it queries data
vendors based on HIT ratios and access charges to minimize
its cost and to provide the best possible HIT ratio for the
credit and collection industry customer. Most credit and
collections companies only use one data vendor, because of
high costs which include both the data access charge as well
as the requirement to format the data request uniquely for
each data vendor. eQuickData, therefore, offers a lower cost
technical solution which has great appeal to IISI’s
potential customers.
The application involves complex web-based
searching across a disparate set of dynamic internal and
external databases. The application applies unique data
treatment approaches that reduce CPU operations to produce
instantaneous results.
IISI’s typical customer in the credit and
collections industry attempts to contact thousands of
consumers each day to follow up on slow or non-payment of
bills. According to the American Collectors Association,
after the first payment default occurs on consumer accounts,
9.5% of all mail contacts are returned undeliverable and 21%
of all phone numbers are disconnected or otherwise no good.
In such instances, the invalid consumer record is placed in
a large query file which is forwarded to a data vendor to
attempt to locate accurate information. Processing such a
file is costly and usually produces a HIT for less than 15%
of the records. Time required for return of the data is
dependent on price paid and can vary from 24 hours to 7
days.
The combined leverage of eQuickData’s
multiple data vendor search model and the proprietary
technology of the eQuickData engine greatly improves the
necessary process of updating consumer telephone numbers and
addresses. IISI provides measurable value by maximizing a
customer’s expenditures for up-to-date consumer information,
by reducing a customer’s costs of direct marketing
operations, and by reducing the time required to retrieve
accurate consumer information.
