COLUMBUS, Ohio,
Feb. 1 -- PWI, a leading software technology and professional
services firm, announced today that it has formed a new
technology group. The group, DataRhythm, is charged with
assisting PWI clients and other Global 2000 companies in
deploying complex web-based and client/server business
intelligence solutions.
"The ability
for the enterprise to collect and distribute information
potentially relevant to their success has never been greater,"
notes PWI CEO and Chairman, Greg Salvato. "The challenge is
not in securing the data, it's in making use of the data in
ways that promote competitive advantage. It is a challenge
that is currently growing at an incredible rate."
"We,"
continues Salvato, "have studied the challenge of gaining
knowledge and insight from large, dynamic data stores for a
number of years. We believe the major stumbling block for most
companies lies in the limitations of current analytical tools.
They simply do not provide sufficient power and scalability to
support the corporate optimization and execution, customer
relationship management and other such complex systems of
today. We're tackling these issues head-on with our DataRhythm
group."
Adds Dr.
Konstantin Malkov, PWI CTO, "DataRhythm's mission is simple:
leverage higher math to power more intelligence into existing
analytical services. For the past three years PWI has paired
top international mathematicians with highly experienced
software developers to look for ways to exponentially enhance
the functionality of decision support software applications.
Their first success came in July of 1999 with the launch of
the Exsonic(TM) Analytical Engine." In its initial
implementation Exsonic provided astounding results. "In an
application designed to assist a large IT organization
schedule and assign thousands of people to hundreds of
projects, Exsonic delivered results in under one second,"
noted Dr. Malkov.
"We
believe,"
added Dr. Igor Mashechkin, PWI Senior Director of Software
Development and Research, "that with larger databases and
more rigorous comparative requirements that Exsonic can
actually exceed our initial results. It is designed for
intensive comparative calculations."
"Innovative
solutions such as Exsonic," concluded Salvato, "that
overcome the processing challenges faced by businesses seeking
to deploy relationship marketing, fraud detection, search,
shopping, scheduling and corporate optimization applications,
teamed with our growing channel of industry-specific solutions
partners are what PWI clients can come to expect more of with
the formalization of DataRhythm."
