Privacyware White Paper Discusses Neural Approach to Threat Prevention and Security Data Analysis

RED BANK, NJ, October 15, 2003 -- Privacyware, a provider of advanced threat prevention and security intelligence solutions, today announced the availability of a white paper that discusses neural and data mining approaches to security data analysis. The white paper presents an overview of the Adaptive Security Engine (ASE), Privacyware’s AI-based analytic technology and describes how it is being used to help security professionals generate actionable knowledge about suspicious behavior and prevent known and unknown system threats.

The Adaptive Security Engine is comprised of a unique combination of specialized technologies including fuzzy clustering, kernel classifiers, and supervised and unsupervised learning theory designed to automatically sift through and analyze high-volume security-related data. Privacyware is developing ASE-embedded solutions with ISV partners, announced in June the release of ThreatSentry an ASE-based threat prevention plug-in for Microsoft® Internet Information Services, and is conducting a controlled rollout of Adaptive Security Analyzer Pro (ASA Pro), Privacyware’s flagship security data analysis system.

“The Adaptive Security Engine represents an exciting advancement in the way security data can be leveraged in real time or offline to reveal criminal activity and misuse within computing networks," said Greg Salvato, Privacyware's Chairman and CEO. “As we continue to rollout Adaptive Security Engine powered solutions for Privacyware and our partners, the demand for additional information about the ASE and how it can be leveraged to reinforce the safety of sophisticated security architectures, and extend the capabilities of rules, signature and statistics-driven tools grows. The objective of this white paper is to provide security professionals, the media, and ISVs a practical overview of its functionality, underlying technologies and commercial implementations.”

The Privacyware White Paper is available upon request by calling 732-212-8110 x235, or by registering at the Privacyware web site: www.privacyware.com.
